For me it was a spiral notebook next to the computer to jot down ideas, sites, resources, money making plans, etc. I would then organized these things come up with a plan and go to work. Money making ideas come around all the time. I have filled a huge number of notebooks - still is a must have for me.

Lesson One: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. By that I mean if you start a website and sell a product, don't rely on just the product sales as your sole source of income. Look for multiple income streams to make money - to me, more is better when trying to make money online.
- Use multiple products and determine which is best.
- Sell advertising space on your site.
- Add programs to your site such as google adsense, Yahoo, Bidvertiser, MSN, Kontera, Click-Serve and earn money when people click.
- Use affiliate programs for added revenue.
- Create a good site that is easy to maintain, well optimized, consumer and search engine friendly and easy to navigate.
- Invest wisely in your business. Spend money to make much more money. Aim to spend about $500.00 on Software Programs, Advertising and marketing.
The truth is some of the programs and methods out there are well thought out and sound - many are just recycled bits of information or programs that look good but produce very little. So, how does one sort through the myriad of programs and come away a winner? You could do as I did and spend years; and through trial and error come up with some sound programs and business practices.
